Hi, I'm Gen — owner and lead artist at MakeupByGen. I'm a Certified Makeup Artist, Hair Dresser, Tooth Gem Tech, and Brow Artist based in Ogden, Utah. I specialize in soft and full bridal and event makeup and hair, and I love creating looks that feel like the most polished, photograph-ready version of you.
I've been in business for 3 years and freelanced for 7 years before that. I'm a proud graduate of QC Makeup Academy. I speak Spanish, and I love working with brides, quinceañeras, and families across Northern Utah and Southern Utah destination events.

Meet Dugeun — the artist behind MakeupByGen
Hi, I'm Dugeun (Gen) — the owner and lead artist behind MakeupByGen. I built this studio in Washington Terrace because I wanted Northern Utah brides and quinceañeras to have a glam experience that feels personal, calm, and bilingual from the very first message. Beauty should feel like a conversation, not a transaction.
My focus is long-wear, photo-ready makeup. Every face is a different canvas, so I take the time to study your skin, your features, and the way light will hit you on your day — whether that's an outdoor ceremony in Park City, a reception under warm bulbs in Salt Lake City, or a quinceañera mass in Ogden. The goal is always the same: you look like you, just more luminous, and you stay that way through the last dance.
I work in English and Spanish, which matters a lot when an entire family is involved in planning. Madrinas, mothers, bridesmaids, abuelas — everyone deserves to be part of the conversation. That's part of why so many of our clients are first generation and second generation Latina families across Weber, Davis, and Salt Lake counties.
Beyond bridal and quinceañera, I'm certified in tooth gem application using a sanitary, dental-grade process. I host makeup classes, one-on-one lessons, teen birthday parties, and product/bag review sessions — basically, anything that helps a client feel more confident with a brush in her hand.
Outside the studio, I love traveling for destination weddings in Southern Utah, building my Glam Squad referral community, and answering DMs at midnight from a bride who suddenly has a question about her trial.
