- Brush gently around the gem with a soft-bristle toothbrush.
- Avoid mouthwashes with high alcohol content for the first 48 hours.
- Do not pick at or push on the gem with your tongue or fingernails.
- Tooth gems typically last several months to a year+ with proper care; longevity varies per person.

Utah tooth gems
Utah tooth gems — sanitary, sparkly, made to last
MakeupByGen is one of the few Utah studios offering certified tooth gem application using a sanitary, dental-grade adhesive process. Tooth gems are temporary — no drilling, no permanent damage to the enamel — and with proper care most clients keep them for 6–18+ months.
We offer three core options: tooth gems 4 ($70), tooth gems 6 ($95), and freestyle ($130) where you and Gen design a custom layout together. We also do tooth gem booths for events — quinceañeras, bachelorettes, brand activations — starting at $400. All gem appointments require clients to be 18 or older. Application is quick — usually 30 to 60 minutes per appointment depending on layout complexity. We isolate the tooth, prep the enamel with a non-damaging etch, hand-place the gems, and cure with a UV light. You leave the appointment with care instructions and a 24-hour eating guide so the bond sets properly.
Tooth gems pair beautifully with bridal, quinceañera, prom, and event glam. Many of our brides add a small gem the morning of their wedding for the photos; many quinceañeras ask for a coordinated layout that matches the dress.
