Why a Bridal Trial?
A bridal trial is a 60-minute studio session 4–8 weeks before your wedding. We finalize your skin prep routine, color palette, lash style, and longevity products so your wedding morning runs without surprises. Trials are not required but are strongly recommended for every MakeupByGen bride.

How far in advance should I book my wedding makeup?
Most MakeupByGen brides book 6–12 months in advance. Peak Utah wedding dates (May–October Saturdays) fill first — the sooner you secure your date, the better.
Do you travel to my venue?
Yes. We're studio-based in Ogden but mobile across Northern Utah and Salt Lake City. A local travel fee applies. Southern Utah destination weddings include a $300 driving fee.
Is a bridal trial required?
Not required, but strongly recommended. A trial lets us perfect your skin prep, color palette, and lash style so your wedding morning runs without surprises.
Do you offer hair styling as well?
Yes — bridal hair styling, up-dos, loose curls, half-up styles, and extensions placement. Many brides book a full hair + makeup package.

How long does bridal makeup take?
Bridal makeup typically takes 90 minutes including skin prep, lashes, and a sealed long-wear setting routine. Trials run about 60 minutes.

What if I need to reschedule?
We do our best to accommodate date changes. Specific terms are in your signed contract and our cancellation policy.

MakeupByGen is a Utah bridal makeup artist studio based in Washington Terrace, just outside Ogden. We've worked with brides across the entire Northern Utah corridor — from Logan and Cache Valley down through Ogden, Layton, Bountiful, Salt Lake City, Park City, and into Provo and Utah County. Wherever your venue is, we can build a timeline that gets you ready calmly and on schedule.
Bridal is what we do most. The current bridal makeup SALE is $130 for the bride alone (subject to admin verification — owner confirms current price), with optional add-ons for a trial ($100), hair ($50–$100 depending on style), false lashes (included), and a touch-up kit. Bridesmaid party glam is $150 per person with group discounts when the whole party books together.
Every Utah bride gets a real consultation. We talk about your dress neckline, the time of your ceremony, the lighting at your venue, your photographer's style, and any skin concerns. We'll patch test if you have sensitivities, and we'll match foundation in natural Utah daylight (not under harsh studio bulbs that lie).
Long-wear is non-negotiable. Utah weddings often involve outdoor first looks, indoor ceremonies, outdoor photos, and indoor receptions — all in one day. We use a combination of skin prep, long-wear base products, hand-blended pigments, and a sealing technique that holds through tears, dancing, and dry mountain air.
Travel for Northern Utah is a flat $25 fee. Park City, Heber, and Midway are all included in standard travel. Southern Utah weddings (Zion, St. George, Kanab) are a $300 destination fee with a quote-first flow. Either way, you get the same artist, the same kit, and the same calm energy.
Most Utah brides book us 6–9 months out. We do accept shorter-notice bookings when our calendar allows, especially for weekday weddings and elopements. Send a date check first — it's free and takes a minute.
