Why a Bridal Trial?
A bridal trial is a 60-minute studio session 4–8 weeks before your wedding. We finalize your skin prep routine, color palette, lash style, and longevity products so your wedding morning runs without surprises. Trials are not required but are strongly recommended for every MakeupByGen bride.

How far in advance should I book my wedding makeup?
Most MakeupByGen brides book 6–12 months in advance. Peak Utah wedding dates (May–October Saturdays) fill first — the sooner you secure your date, the better.
Do you travel to my venue?
Yes. We're studio-based in Ogden but mobile across Northern Utah and Salt Lake City. A local travel fee applies. Southern Utah destination weddings include a $300 driving fee.
Is a bridal trial required?
Not required, but strongly recommended. A trial lets us perfect your skin prep, color palette, and lash style so your wedding morning runs without surprises.
Do you offer hair styling as well?
Yes — bridal hair styling, up-dos, loose curls, half-up styles, and extensions placement. Many brides book a full hair + makeup package.
What about my bridesmaids, mom, and madrinas?
We glam the entire wedding party — bridesmaids, maid of honor, mothers of the bride and groom, madrinas, and youth makeup for flower girls.
How long does bridal makeup take?
Bridal makeup typically takes 90 minutes including skin prep, lashes, and a sealed long-wear setting routine. Trials run about 60 minutes.
Do you offer touch-up kits?
Yes. Our Premium packages include a personalized bridal touch-up kit so you can refresh lips and powder throughout the day.
What if I need to reschedule?
We do our best to accommodate date changes. Specific terms are in your signed contract and our cancellation policy.

Utah wedding makeup artist — for the bride and the whole party
MakeupByGen handles full Utah wedding parties — not just the bride. When you book us for your wedding, you're booking a coordinated team that can glam the bride, bridesmaids, mothers, madrinas, mothers-in-law, and the flower girls if you'd like, all on the same morning, all on schedule.
Wedding party pricing starts at $150 per person for party glam (bridesmaids, MOH, mothers). The bride is $130 (sale price). Hair styling is $50–$100 per person depending on style. Youth makeup for flower girls or younger sisters is $20. We send a single timeline document so your photographer and planner know exactly when each person finishes.
We've worked at venues across the entire state — historic homes in SLC, mountain venues in Park City and Heber, lakeside venues at Bear Lake, ranch venues in Cache Valley, and red-rock destinations down south. Each venue has its own lighting and pacing quirks, and we adjust our products and timeline accordingly.
Travel is $25 flat for Northern Utah and $300 for Southern Utah destinations. We can almost always accommodate a venue change up until two weeks before the wedding — just let us know as soon as you can.
If you'd like to add tooth gems, a tooth gem booth, or hair extensions for the bridesmaids, we can bundle those into the same proposal. The goal is one trusted team for the whole wedding morning.
