Why a Bridal Trial?
A bridal trial is a 60-minute studio session 4–8 weeks before your wedding. We finalize your skin prep routine, color palette, lash style, and longevity products so your wedding morning runs without surprises. Trials are not required but are strongly recommended for every MakeupByGen bride.

How far in advance should I book my wedding makeup?
Most MakeupByGen brides book 6–12 months in advance. Peak Utah wedding dates (May–October Saturdays) fill first — the sooner you secure your date, the better.
Do you travel to my venue?
Yes. We're studio-based in Ogden but mobile across Northern Utah and Salt Lake City. A local travel fee applies. Southern Utah destination weddings include a $300 driving fee.
Is a bridal trial required?
Not required, but strongly recommended. A trial lets us perfect your skin prep, color palette, and lash style so your wedding morning runs without surprises.
Do you offer hair styling as well?
Yes — bridal hair styling, up-dos, loose curls, half-up styles, and extensions placement. Many brides book a full hair + makeup package.
What about my bridesmaids, mom, and madrinas?
We glam the entire wedding party — bridesmaids, maid of honor, mothers of the bride and groom, madrinas, and youth makeup for flower girls.
How long does bridal makeup take?
Bridal makeup typically takes 90 minutes including skin prep, lashes, and a sealed long-wear setting routine. Trials run about 60 minutes.

What if I need to reschedule?
We do our best to accommodate date changes. Specific terms are in your signed contract and our cancellation policy.

We're a quick drive from downtown SLC, the Avenues, Sugar House, Millcreek, Holladay, Murray, and the entire Salt Lake County wedding circuit. Whether your venue is in the city, on the foothills, or up in Park City, we can build a getting-ready timeline that works.
SLC bridal pricing matches our Northern Utah rates: $130 bridal makeup SALE, $100 trial, $150 party glam per bridesmaid, plus hair add-ons and a flat travel fee. The Park City/Heber area is included in standard travel — no extra destination fee for the SLC metro.
Salt Lake City weddings often involve a mix of indoor and outdoor moments — first looks at Memory Grove, ceremonies at venues like the Capitol or Snowbird, receptions in industrial downtown spaces. We adjust foundation, lashes, and lip products based on your venue lighting and your photographer's editing style so your photos hold up.
Bilingual support matters here too — Salt Lake's Latina community is huge and we're proud to serve quinceañeras and brides whose madrinas, mothers, and sisters prefer Spanish. The whole consultation can happen in Spanish if that's easier.
