Why a Bridal Trial?
A bridal trial is a 60-minute studio session 4–8 weeks before your wedding. We finalize your skin prep routine, color palette, lash style, and longevity products so your wedding morning runs without surprises. Trials are not required but are strongly recommended for every MakeupByGen bride.

How far in advance should I book my wedding makeup?
Most MakeupByGen brides book 6–12 months in advance. Peak Utah wedding dates (May–October Saturdays) fill first — the sooner you secure your date, the better.
Do you travel to my venue?
Yes. We're studio-based in Ogden but mobile across Northern Utah and Salt Lake City. A local travel fee applies. Southern Utah destination weddings include a $300 driving fee.
Is a bridal trial required?
Not required, but strongly recommended. A trial lets us perfect your skin prep, color palette, and lash style so your wedding morning runs without surprises.
Do you offer hair styling as well?
Yes — bridal hair styling, up-dos, loose curls, half-up styles, and extensions placement. Many brides book a full hair + makeup package.
What about my bridesmaids, mom, and madrinas?
We glam the entire wedding party — bridesmaids, maid of honor, mothers of the bride and groom, madrinas, and youth makeup for flower girls.
How long does bridal makeup take?
Bridal makeup typically takes 90 minutes including skin prep, lashes, and a sealed long-wear setting routine. Trials run about 60 minutes.

Southern Utah weddings are unlike anything else. The cliffs of Zion, the slot canyons near Kanab, the red rock outside Moab, the warm light of St. George — every venue has its own personality, and we tailor our approach to match.
MakeupByGen travels for Southern Utah weddings with a $300 destination driving fee. We typically arrive the night before, stay near the venue, and handle bride + party glam on the wedding morning. Pricing for the bride and party matches our Northern Utah rates; the only addition is the destination fee and any required lodging.
Wedding day makeup down south needs to survive heat, dry air, and direct sun. We use long-wear primers, sealing products, and a touch-up kit recommendation that holds through outdoor first looks, sandy paths, and reception dancing. Photos at golden hour come out luminous — no chalky flashback, no oxidized foundation.
Bilingual brides and quinceañera-style weddings are very welcome. Spanish-speaking madrinas, mothers, and abuelas can be part of the consultation from day one.
